The snow is falling heavy and my girlfriend hasn’t gone to work due to being snowed in. I work from home to try and catch up on things in anticipation of going away. The weather subsides and I jump in the car and make my way from Cheshire to a hotel near Heathrow. The snow falls continually from Birmingham to the hotel, crawling on the motorway at 30/40mph. I make it and get my head down.
I meet my business partner at Heathrow T5 early in the morning. We are flying to Kiev in Ukraine. We land then straight into 3 meetings before going for dinner with a client of ours. It’s important to try and meet people face to face to build relationships. This is a big part of the business.
We have 2 meetings today. We try and meet as many people as possible whilst out here. It’s very cold and we have the game in the evening. It’s the same stadium as the upcoming Champions League Final, hopefully I will be back here soon to watch Manchester City in the Final! The snow is falling heavy and they are clearing the pitch. The game is a good one to watch although a hard one to judge players due to the weather. It’s the coldest I’ve been watching a game, – 10. We end up watching a lot of the 2nd half from inside the box!
After a walk around the City Centre in the morning, we make our way to the airport. After arriving back in Heathrow, I’m in the car driving back to Cheshire. It’s been a long few days but worth it.
A morning phone call to catch up with the amazing guys over at Noir Agency in Manchester to catch up on our ongoing projects. Then onto the massage table for my routine Physio Session. After all the years of driving and complete disregard for myself, I am trying to get fixed… In the afternoon I’m then over to a Football Club to do some filming for our Online Intermediary Course.
I jump on an early train down to London to meet my business partner. We have 4 meetings pencilled in for today. The day finishes with an amazing meal at Hakkasan with a friend of ours. Talk is always about football and the industry. The travelling gets to me so I reluctantly turn down a few drinks after dinner and head to the hotel.
2 more meetings in London and then I’m on the train back up to Cheshire. A quick coffee with a friend who is passing through and then home to get some admin done. It’s important to stay on top of everything when you’re not travelling as things can soon build up.
I’m off to Geneva today for the Motorshow with Optima Cars. These guys look after our clients and us, for many many years. When it comes to finding top end cars at a good price they are the guys to go to. It’s important for them to be at the Motorshow to keep up to date with what’s being released. I go every year with them as its fun and I love cars! We get back to Manchester late that evening after a really good day.
The last few weeks have been pretty packed and I haven’t had a lot of time with my girlfriend so I have booked Paris for the weekend. She’s excited and the amount of online shopping that’s come to the house this week, I can expect an outfit change every hour. We have a fun 24hours and even manage to fit in watching the football and the rugby. If you ever find yourself in Paris, makes sure you get to Hotel Costes for dinner.
A stroll round Paris and then back home. Of course Easyjet are delayed but we make it eventually.
A sad day as I drove to Devon for my Grandfathers Funeral. He made 100 so he made the most of it. A reminder of what awaits us all. A long drive there and back. 8 hours in the car means lots of phone calls made and Podcasts ticked off.
Had to drop the car off to the garage to sort a few things out. Whilst in Manchester I make sure I have a couple of meetings. Then back to Cheshire for another meeting. Will pick the car up tomorrow.
Today I’m back into Manchester to pick the car up. I then head to Manchester City vs Liverpool in the Youth Champions League. After I go straight to the airport for a flight to Amsterdam, landing in the evening. I have a good meeting with a club and client.
Early breakfast meeting and then onto the plane back to Manchester. I made my way into City Centre for 2 meetings in the late afternoon. The girlfriend comes with me as we are working on a separate project away from Football together. We then go for dinner after and a new restaurant that’s opened in Manchester, 20 Stories.
It’s not always work, Friday I played a Pairs Golf Semi Final Match which we lost, mainly due to me being shocking off the Tee and on Saturday, for St Patricks Day, I went to watch the UFC Fight in London with a good friend of mine. The week then starts again…..
