Paul Pogba’s Agent Setting A Madrid Move In Motion
By Dan Tracey
We’re getting to that time of year when the phrase “transfer saga” will begin to be used on a near daily basis and it seems that this time around, the often used cliché is being attached to the movements of Paul Pogba.
The 26 year-old French midfielder is undergoing something of a resurgence of form at Manchester United and this is undoubtedly down to the fact that Jose Mourinho is no longer in charge at Old Trafford.
Since the change of managerial personal at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’, Pogba has arguably been playing his best football during his second stint at the club and is now finally looking good value for the £89m that was spent on him back in 2016.
This upturn in form has not only won him the admiration of new manager and fans alike, but there also now seems to be a love affair from afar and one that comes in the shape of heightened interest from Real Madrid.
While it is an interest that has only really come around since Los Blancos decided to roll the managerial dice for a second time this season and re-install Zinedine Zidane at the helm of the Santiago Bernabeu.
The team that have won the last three editions of the Champions League saw their vice like grip on the trophy eased away by Ajax in the Round of 16 and it was this defeat that ended the managerial stint of Santiago Solari.
With Real Madrid in a state of flux, they then felt it made sense to look to a very safe pair of hands and a pair that masterminded all three of those aforementioned Champions League successes in as many years.
However, with the Spanish giants out of Europe’s premier club competition and a huge distance off of arch-rivals Barcelona in the race for the La Liga crown, it has meant that Zidane is all but coasting towards the end of the campaign.
Once Real Madrid limp towards the end of this forgettable season, that is when the Real revolution takes place and it is one that is set to involve a lot of ins and outs as far as talented playing personnel is involved.
Personnel that they hope will involve the capture of Pogba from Manchester United and it is a move that could well be accelerated by the fact that the midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola has reportedly been in talks with the Madrid outfit.
At the same time when Raiola is involved, you know that big demands are also around the corner and if this deal is to get off the ground, then he is reportedly asking for a personal commission of around £16m.
Without that amount of money going towards Pogba’s agent, it is a move that might fail to get out of the starting blocks. However, if Real Madrid do decide to grease these particular wheels, then we could see one French World Cup winner soon under the stewardship of another.
